Have you seen the tutorial from MSCQ on the Disappearing Pinwheel? I am making a quilt for a friend's 6 year old son, so I used some fabric samples from Blank Quilting's On the Job to make this quilt top. I cut my samples into 11 1/2" squares which made 13" finished blocks. I used the scraps to make some scrappy blocks and floated them on a beige background. I think it turned out great. I'm making a quilt for his 8 year old brother and will get them both quilted at the same time.

Brenda Miller has released her newest pattern a Yoga Bag to hold all your supplies for class. She used a fabric called YOGA CATS from Quilting Treasures, available from International Textiles. I think it looks great! Let me know what you think.
Every year I like to make gifts for the teachers at my son's school. This year I made these cute mug rugs. I used some of my older sample cards from International, but you could use strip packs, charm packs, any pre-cut or scraps from your scrap basket. Here is the link to the tutorial:

I added a Tims card and put it in a cello bag with some ribbon. I think it was a very cute gift and I think the teachers appreciate something hand made. |
