Here is my finished quilt top. I used Happy Blooms from Cador which I picked up at Quilting Confections the last time I was in Windsor, along with all the tips to help with the applique. Now I just have to practice my free-motion for when the Tiara arrives.
Welcome to my blog. Here I will share information on the lines that I carry; Jefferson Notions, BabyLock Sewing
machines and International textiles. I will share experiences with my lines, my products, my customers and my travels. Check back often; I am always up to something.
Today's adventure includes the Tiara Quilt I am making for BabyLock. This is a wallhanging with a large tiara appliqued in the centre; you see it on the Tiara brochure and on the BabyLock website. I decided it would be great to have a Tiara Quilt to display with the Tiara at shows and events. Unfortunately to-date my applique skills are second last only to my free-motion skills. But under the well-experienced guidance of Katrina from Quilting Confections in Windsor I cast my fears aside and, well, I think the result is fabulous!
Of course I could not have done it without the automatic pivot on my Ellisimo Gold and the Open Toe Foot (ESG-OT). I also took a hint from Katrina and slowed the speed right down using the speed control. It
was a slow task, but here is the result.
