Here are 2 sample pins I made for a launch I am doing Jan 26 in Dresden, ON. A store called Verna's Sewing Centre is coming online as our first Crown Jewel dealer. We are having an open-house to launch the dealership. As part of the fun we will be making Valentines Pins using Kanzashi flower makers and Heart-shaped yo-yo makers. How cute!
So here it is, Boxing Day 2012, and I am thinking of....Easter! I need some small projects to do with my BabyLock dealers for spring or Easter. I was searching the internet and I can accross this great tutorial to make fabric easter eggs. Here is the link, and here is my first attempt.
Well today was a very exciting day. I opened my new BabyLock Unity, which I will be using for all my home sewing. What a fabulous machine. 11 1/4" throat, laser stylus and dual feed walking foot. This machine is incredible! Check out the close up of the dual-feed foot. This is a close as you can get to a differential feed for a sewing machine. You can feed the upper fabric at a different speed than the lower fabric, for a perfect match. Great for sewing together different weights of fabrics, or matching stripes/plaids. It can also sew through extremely thick fabric with no problems.
The laser stylus can be used to set a stop point, set the width of a decorative stitch, and can be used for embroidery plecement (more on that later).
What a great machine!
Hi Everyone. Every day is like Christmas around here! I arrived home last nite to
another new sample box from International Textiles. This one includes 2 new
block of the month programs from Marcus and full size samples of the hand-dyed
ombres. These hand-dyed ombres are fabulous. Here is the link to the Marcus
I can't wait to take these new samples out to my customers!
I am making up these cute little corsages; I am using the Kanzashi Orchid flower maker, attaching a jingle bell with a bit of ribbon and a button at the centre. A badge pin on the back and voila! A cute little Christmas pin.
I've been doing all kinds of things with these flower makers; I made a hat and scarf from polar fleece and attached some large and small flowers, and made a candle mat and attached some flowers and leaves. These are great fun to work with. I can't beleive how long it took me to discover them.
